Special Annual Conference

Called Special Annual Conference: On Nov. 12 (Sat) at 10:00 am, the Bishop will host a Zoom conference for churches (including ours) seeking to disaffiliate from the UMC. Elected church delegates from the conference will vote and “‘the disaffiliation agreement [shall] be ratified by a simple majority of the members of the annual conference’ at a duly called session of the annual conference.” (Procedures and Processes for Churches Disaffiliating under ¶ 2553 of the Book Discipline) Pastor Alex and Brenda Hocking are the voting delegates from our church. We invite you to join them on Nov. 12 at 9:30 am in the church for prayer before the vote. We have followed the guidance of the Alabama West-Florida Conference and held a townhall meeting and church conference that resulted in a 100% vote to disaffiliate from the UMC. As we continue this journey of faith together, our church council will continue to keep you informed.
